Monday Review: Inkheart-Cornelia Funke (Book 1)

(Apologies for the rough condition of my book)

This is a great series to read, for young readers as well as adults.

It’s full of magic, adventure and just like my last review of ‘The Thirteenth Tale’, it’s a book within a book!

When I first acquired this book, I didn’t think I’d love it as much as I did. I was immediately drawn in and couldn’t put it down (even more so with the next two books in the series).

This book was adapted into a movie too, and this may be an unpopular opinion but I like movie or television apadtions of books, they aren’t as terrible to me as a lot of other people think.

Let me know if you’ve read this book and what you thought of it!

  1. You already know I read it and enjoyed it! Though that was probably back in middle school. I want to reread it at some point and see how it holds up.

I don’t get why some people dislike adaptations. They’re just another way to experience the story. I’ve seen some that were actually better than the original source material (though this is rare). I’ve also seen a few that were utterly terrible adaptations (Eragon, The Shining, etc.). Most of the time, though, they are just fine. Sure, they may not have every detail that was in the book, but as long as the core of the story comes across well, I really see no problem with it.

    1. I especially like adaptions where it’s slightly different than the original story, or even a game, but have Easter Eggs!
